Ronald David Northington, born on November 12, 1939, in Kansas City, MO, peacefully passed away on December 11, 2023, at Bethany on the Lake in Alexandria, MN. He was 84 years old.
Ronald was a beloved husband, father, and friend to many. He was baptized and confirmed from Central Christian Church in Kansas City, MO. Ronald cherished his education, graduating from Central High School in his hometown.
On January 1, 1960, Ronald exchanged vows with his beloved wife, Judy South. Their union brought immense joy to their lives including two sons, Scott and David, but it was marred by the loss of Judy on April 13, 2005 and Scott on February 21, 1980. Despite the challenges, Ronald remained a pillar of strength and love for their son, David Northington.
Professionally, Ronald dedicated his skills and passion to Addressograph Multigraph in Kansas City, before venturing into a successful career as a self-employed salesman for gift industry. He was a respected member and former president of the Upper Midwest Allied Gift Association (UMAGA), where he fostered lasting relationships with colleagues and industry leaders.
Beyond his professional endeavors, Ronald had a zest for life. He had an adventurous spirit and a love for travel, especially finding solace on the shores of Kaanapali Beach in Maui. Summers were spent at his cherished cabin on Lake Amelia, where he created lifelong memories with family and friends. In his leisure time, Ronald enjoyed playing golf, relishing the camaraderie and friendly competition shared with his loved ones.
He is survived by his son David (Rhea) Northington; grandchildren, Taylor (Nick) Cardona, Kristen (Quincey) Roers, Erika Stenvik and Claire Stenvik; great grandchildren, Violet Cardona, Max Cardona, and Garrett Stenvik.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Judy Northington, son, Scott Northington, and his parents, David and Martha Northington.
Ronald David Northington's presence will be profoundly missed, but his memory will forever be cherished by those who knew him.
Ronald D. Northington, of Alexandria, MN, died on Monday, December 11, 2023 at Bethany on the Lake in Alexandria at the age of 84 years old.
A funeral service will be held at 1 PM at the Anderson Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, December 15, 2023.
A visitation will take place one hour prior to the service at the Anderson Funeral Home on Friday.
Interment will be in Kinkead Cemetery.
