Rose Bitzan

Rose Alice (Revering) Bitzan of Millerville, Minnesota died on Friday, June 3, 2011. Rose Alice was born in Urbank, Minnesota on March 12, 1940 to Nicholas and Florence (Miller) Revering. Rose Alice celebrated 40 years of marriage to Cletus Bitzan in 2010. She was gracious in her roles as a faithful wife, loving mother of five children, and a caring grandmother. Rose enjoyed gardening, farming and spending time with her sixteen grandchildren. She made spending a girl?s weekend at the cabin a tradition with her granddaughters. While cheering on her son, Rose Alice was considered the ?biggest fan? of stock car racing byer her family, in Alexandria for over 20, years. Rose Alice also looked forward to coffee and good conversation with her girlfriends on Friday?s. Rose spent many years volunteering her time at Seven Dolors Catholic Church in many different ways. She was an active member with the Christian Mothers over the past 49 years. She always enjoyed visiting with Father Lemm and Father LeRoy. Rose Alice brought a strong Christian faith to her family, the foundation of faith that had been laid by her parents. Rose Alice never passed up an opportunity to play with her grandchildren when they came to visit. She wouldn?t hesitate to get on the floor for a game of cards, board games or building train tracks. She even learned how to bowl with the Wii. Rose Alice liked to stay involved with her grandchildren by attending numerous events they participated in. She loved having her family together for any occasion or reason. She could always be found cooking or baking in the kitchen. All of the grandchildren enjoyed lots of laughs with Grandma. Rose is survived by her husband, Cletus Bitzan; daughters: Diane (Loren) Lukes, Donna (Joe) Plumbo, Debbie (Rob) Jost, Darnell (Kurt) Brethorst; son, Dennis (Tara) Bitzan; grandchildren: Steven, Tim, Rebecca Lukes, Shawn Bitzan, Sarah Whiting, Samantha Strom, Courtney Bitzan, Cayla Bitzan, Victoria Plumbo, Veronica Plumbo, Amy, April, Alex, Aaron Jost, Ashley, Austin Brethorst; sister, Margaret Mary Roers; brothers: Bill (Shirley) Revering, Larry (Jan) Revering; brother-in-laws: Nicholas & Clement Bitzan; sister-in-law, Odilia Roers. Christian Mothers Rosary was held on Sunday, June 5, 2011, 6:30 p.m. with a Parish Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial was held on Monday, June 6, 2011, 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Seven Dolors Catholic Church in Millerville with Father LeRoy Scheierl officiating. Burial was at the church cemetery. Honorary Pallbearers were Victoria and Veronica Plumbo, Courtney & Cayla Bitzan, Amy, April, Alex, Aaron Jost, Ashley & Austin Brethorst. Pallbearers were Shawn Bitzan, Sarah Whiting, Samantha Strom, Steven Lukes, Timothy Lukes and Rebecca Lukes. Arrangements were with the Anderson Funeral Home. www.andersonfuneral.net
