Rosella Jean Olsen was born on July 9, 1934, in Lowry, Minnesota the daughter of Anton and Inga (Moen) Olson. The family lived in the Lowry area during Rosella?s childhood years and she graduated from Glenwood High School. Rosella was united in marriage Arnold Olsen at St. Paul?s Lutheran Church in Lowry on September 22, 1954, to this union four children were born. The family lived in Alexandria all their married life. During this time Rosella worked several jobs which included Singers Sewing Center, for Dr. Undem recording medical records, for Vikingland Home Health, Osakis Nursing Home, Bethany Home and Petermeier Funeral Home. Rosella enjoyed working in her garden, playing piano, crocheting Afghans, embroidering and painting on dish towels.She loved doing ceramics and offered ceramic classes in her basement. She made a ceramic nativity scene that was displayed at the Douglas County Courthouse for several years during the Christmas Season. Rosella will be remembered as a strong spirited person who when she believed in something she would stand up for it. She had a great love for her family and will be greatly missed by all. Rosella died on Tuesday, April 9, 2013, after a valiant struggle with poor health the last two years. She is survived by her children: Steve & wife, Karen of Alexandria, Alan & wife, Mary of Alexandria, Elizabeth &husband, Chuck Alsleben of Alexandria, Robb of Minneapolis; ten grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arnie; brothers: Vernon ?Bud? Olson, Lawrence ?Bob? Olson, infant brother, Vernon; sisters: Elaine Dahl, Luella Berglund. Funeral services were held on Monday, April 14, 2013, 11:00 a.m. at First Lutheran Church in Alexandria. Honoary Pallbearers were her great grandchildren. Pallbearers were Heather Pfeffer, Jason Olsen, Kristin Olsen, Adam Olsen, Jacob Porter, Jessica Wanless-Alsleben, Keith Alsleben, Aaron Olsen, Andrew Olsen, Aric Olsen. Burial was at the Kinkead Cemetery.
