Rosemary Otterstetter

September 23, 1951 — November 13, 2015

On September 23, 1951, in South Bend, Indiana, Rosemary Kay Otterstetter was born one of eight children to Kenneth and Juanita (Landis) Hurley. Rosemary lived in South Bend until she was 19 years old. It was while visiting Colorado with some friends that she met a young Army soldier by the name of Allen Otterstetter. The two were united in marriage on April 28, 1972, to this union three children were born, Heather, Jacob and Lucas. The couple moved to North Minneapolis, later living in Coon Rapids for six years before purchasing a homestead in Brandon.

Rosemary enjoyed thrift shopping, reading and watching crime dramas, playing solitaire and going to the movies with friends. She was an avid Minnesota Vikings fan and loved country music, especially anything by Kenny Chesney. She was passionate about being an organ donor, and a supporter of donatelife.net. Her greatest love was for her family. She was the mother and grandmother who loved to cook for her family. She would bake cookies, letting the kids and grandkids help so that they also learned. She was the grandma who didn't put up with a lot of nonsense, but shared her love, her laugh and stories with them. Rosemary was a companion, soul mate and an ever steady presence that Allen will deeply miss.

On Friday, November 13, 2015, at the age of sixty four, Rosemary died at home, spending her last days surrounded by her family and closest friends. She is survived by her Husband, Allen of forty-three years; children, Heather Hoernemann, Jacob Otterstetter, Lucas Otterstetter and his wife, Elizabeth; grandchildren, Martin Hoernemann, Enny Kong, Kendra Kennebeck, Masya Kong, Andrew Hoernemann and Sam Kong. Rose was survived as well by brothers and sisters, Kolleen Landaw, Margie Nemeth, Ronda Engstrom, Nancy Sparks, Kenneth Hurley Jr., Rory Hurley and Timothy Hurley.
Rosemary wish was for everyone to become an organ donor. If you are interested in becoming an organ donor and/or making a donation to LifeSource Organ and Tissue Donation, see the following internet link, www.life-source.org
