ROSIE KANE

Loving Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother, Rosie Kane passed away on Saturday, June 3, 2017 at age 69.

Rosie was born November 18, 1947 in St. Paul, MN, the daughter of Edward and Lucille (Julson) Schlink. She grew up in St. Paul where she graduated from Derham Hall High School. Her role as a homemaker began shortly after high school, and she was blessed with four children. She went on to college graduating with a Law Enforcement degree from Lakewood Community College.

Loving the country, and the Alexandria, MN area, she moved her family to Brandon in 1977. Rosie worked hard to care for and support her family throughout her life. Diverse positions include undercover Police Officer, State Highway Patrol, Douglas County Dispatcher, Human Rights Officer, Domestic Violence Counselor and MN DNR. She finished out her career as a Sr. Transportation Generalist at MNDOT, retiring in 2007. She also loved her time volunteering at the hospital in Alexandria.

Her greatest joy was time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren in addition to spending time at her home on the lake.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sisters, Elaine Winandy and Diane Kral. She is survived by sisters, Joan Cossack, Barb Schlink, Katie Jocks (Richard), Jan Hamiel (Todd) and brother Michael Schlink; children Cheryl Kane of Stillwater, MN, Michael Kane (Rose) of Brandon, MN, Colleen Maddux (Doug), of Stillwater and Shawn Kane of Brandon; grandchildren, Jacki (Steven), Bubba (Leah), Hannah, Jordan, Jonnathan, Cole, Jenna, Madison, and Jillian; great grandchildren, Quintin and Quayvon; Many beloved nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She will be deeply missed.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1 PM Friday, June 9th at St. Ann's Catholic Church, 402 Nelson St, Brandon, MN 56315. Visitation 1 hour prior to Mass. Reverend Fr. Peter Vander Weyst, celebrant. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
