Roy Johansen
March 24, 1929 — October 30, 2017
Roy Palmer Johansen, passed peacefully on Oct. 30, 2017 at the age of 88. He is survived by five children: Barry (Martha) Johansen, Nancy (Brian) Wester, Karan Hillberg, Katie (Carl) Haggenson, George Johansen; grandchildren: Jake (Courtney), Erin, Heidi (Cassie), Kristen, Lauren (Jeff), Elizabeth (Trent).
He is preceded in death by his parents: Gustave & Agnes Johansen; wife, Marion, son, Bradley; son-in-law, Michael Hillberg.
Roy was born and lived in South Minneapolis – working for the Milwaukee Railroad/Soo Line for 41 years – before he and Marion retired in Alexandria, MN 25 years ago.
Roy’s family would like to thank all the staff at Augustana Care Health and Rehabilitation Center, Apple Valley and Grace Hospice for their loving care of our dad
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, November 3, 2017, 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Alexandria with visitation one hour prior at the church. Burial will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery. Memorials are preferred to Augustana Care Health & Rehabilitation Center, Grace Hospice, or The Open Door Food Pantry.
