Roy F. Pipo Roy Ferdinand Pipo, age 85, of Kensington, MN passed away on Monday, May 18, 2009. Roy was born to Carl and Anna (Olson) Pipo on February 28, 1924 in Moe Township. He went to District 5 School through the eighth grade. He farmed with his brother and father until he went into the United States Air Force. During his service career he was stationed in Okinawa. After his military career he worked in Cyrus as a farm equipment mechanic. He later moved back to the family farm and farmed with his brother, John. Roy married Hilma (Elkie) Adamson on February 15, 1964. Roy farmed until last year. During his retirement years, Roy loved gardening, fabricating and designing many different items from wood and iron. He also enjoyed rebuilding his Model A's. He was preceded in death by his parents Carl and Anna Pipo; brothers: George, James, John, Oscar, Ludwig; sisters: Ethel, Sadie, Rose, Hilma, Alice, Pearl, Olga, Mae; grandchildren: Jaana Adamson and Timothy Adamson. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Hilma Pipo, of Kensington, MN; sons: Leonard (Kathy) Adamson of New Hope, MN, Gary (Ida) Adamson of Kensington, MN; grandchildren: Daniel (Carolyn) Adamson of St. Louis Park, MN, Janelle (Daniel) Crossfield of Plymouth, MN, Krista Adamson of New Hope, MN, Lindsey (Tyler) Hall of Bloomington, MN, Megan (Bob) Schlick of Minneapolis, MN; sister: Ida Muecke of Alexandria, MN; brother-in-law: Charlie Peterson of Evansville, MN; sister-in-law: Hermione Pippo of Annandale, MN; many nieces, nephews, friends, and a host of brothers and sisters in faith. A funeral service was held on Friday, May 22, 2009 at the Holmes City Finnish Apostolic Lutheran Church in Moe Township, MN with Bill Tuominen officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery. The Kensington American Legion performed the military rites. Casket bearers were Gabe Pipo, Dan Adamson, Jerry Peterson, Richard Hoff, Sherry Thompson, Carl Pipo and Carl Greku. Honorary casket bearers were Megan Schlick, Lindsey Hall, Janelle Crossfield, Krista Adamson and Charlie Peterson. Arrangements are with the Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria www.andersonfuneral.net
