Ruby E. Gunderson age 101 of Alexandria formerly Farwell died on Thursday, May 28, 2015. A Funeral Service will be held 11:00 AM on Wednesday, June 3, 2015 at Oscar Lake Lutheran Church in Alexandria. Visitation will be held from 5-7 PM on Tuesday, June 2, 2015 at the Anderson Funeral Home and for one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday.

Obituary
Ruby Eleanor Gunderson was born February 9th, 1914 in Farwell, Minnesota, the daughter of Carl & Emma (Dahlin) Holm. Ruby was baptized and confirmed at Oscar Lake Church near Farwell. She attended country school and received her diploma. Ruby also spent some time as a nanny in Texas for a few years.
On January 15, 1942 Ruby was joined in marriage to Erwin Gunderson in Worthington, MN. The couple made their home on Ruby’s grandfather’s farm.
Ruby enjoyed spending time in her vegetable and flower gardens and had a love for cats and rabbits. She also enjoyed reading and poetry. Ruby loved to travel with her brother-in-law, Palmer, and his wife, Hazel where they wintered in Arizona.

Ruby died on Thursday, May 27, 2015 at the age of 101. She is survived by her son, Cy (Judy) Gunderson of Alexandria; three grandchildren, Jeffrey Gunderson of Alexandria, Dawn Gunderson of CT, and Carrie (Mark) Schloegl of Alexandria; and two great-granddaughters, Emma & Grace. Ruby is preceded in death by parents, Carl & Emma; husband, Erwin; and son, Bruce.
A funeral service was held on Wednesday, June 3, 2015 at Oscar Lake Lutheran Church, in rural Farwell, MN with Reverend Denise Croskey officiating. Interment was at Oscar Lake Lutheran Cemetery.
