Rueben Diedrich Rueben George Diedrich was born at the home farm in Effington Township, Otter Tail County, Minnesota, on November 14, 1935, the son of Herbert and Violet (Fruedenberg) Diedrich. He attended country schools. Following his education he served in the United States Army following World War II and served in Germany. He was Honorably Discharged and moved back to Otter Tail County. At this time he took a construction job building grain elevators in Utah and Montana. He met his future wife, Dianna Jensen, in Montana, and they were married in Conrad, Montana on June 19, 1965. The couple moved to the farm in Leaf Valley Township that Rueben bought. It was here that they raised their two daughters. Rueben loved to work on the farm but did find time to serve on the Leaf Valley Fire Department, Leaf Valley Town Board and served as an Ebenezer Lutheran Church Trustee for several years. He also enjoyed bowling. Rueben was diagnosed with Parkinson?s disease about 19 years ago and for the past four years had lived in nursing homes because of his afflictions. He died on Monday, February 21, 2011, at the Minnesota Veteran?s Home in Fergus Falls at the age of 75 years. He is survived by his wife Dianna Diedrich of Garfield, daughters Michelle Hanson of Alexandria and Millisa (Darran) Peterson of Garfield; grandchildren Logan Hanson, Kristin Hanson, Raya Peterson, and Regan Peterson, seven brothers, and six sisters. Rueben was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers. Memorial services were held on Saturday, February 26, 2011, from the Anderson Funeral Chapel in Alexandria, Minnesota, with Pastor Wayne Erickson officiating. Grandchildren Logan Hanson, Kristin Hanson, Raya Peterson, and Regan Peterson served as Honorary Pallbearers. Arrangements are with the Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria. www.andersonfuneral.net
