Russell Clyde Moeser was born on a farm near Kroschel, Minnesota on January 14, 1932, to William and Clara (Freeberg) Moeser. He graduated from Hinckley High School in 1949 and after graduation was employed at Honeywell in Minneapolis. Russell served in the U.S. Army from 1952-1954.
Russell was united in marriage to Pauline Nyberg at Golden Valley Lutheran Church on September 20, 1957. The couple lived in Coon Rapids until 1964, then Columbia Heights until 1968, while Russell worked at Juno Tool in Minneapolis. Russell transferred to Juno in Alexandria in 1968, retiring in 1994.
Russell enjoyed deer hunting, bowling and golfing. The couple enjoyed spending winters in Casa Grande, AZ. He was a member of the Alexandria American Legion 87 and Eagles Club 1771.
Russell died on Saturday, February 24, 2018, at St. Williams Living Center in Parkers Prairie at the age of 86. He is survived by his son, Randy (Mary) Moeser of Brainerd; daughter-in-law, Jan Moeser of Elk River; 5 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Russell is preceded in death by his wife, Pauline; son, Richard; and parents, William and Clara.
A memorial service was held on Thursday, March 1, 2018, at Zion Lutheran Church in Alexandria. Interment was held at Geneva Cemetery. Military Honors were provided by the Alexandria Honor Guard and the Minnesota National Honor Guard.
