Ruth Westerberg

Ruth Ann Klein was born July 25, 1948, in Needles, CA, the daughter of Edward and Phyllis (Field) Klein. She moved with her family to St. Cloud, MN at a young age. She grew up in St. Cloud where she graduated from Tech High School.

Ruth began doing clerical work for a doctor in St. Cloud. She was united in marriage to Charles Westerberg on April 27, 1968. The couple was blessed with two children, Tammy and Paul. Ruth continued in the medical field at Long Prairie Clinic for several years. Following Charles death in 1997 She moved to Alexandria and continued her education in medical records. Ruth retired due to a disability in the late 2000’s.  She moved back to the Osakis/Long Prairie area.

Ruth loved to read; she especially enjoyed authors like Stephen King and Dean Koontz. She also spent time doing puzzles and coloring. Ruth liked visiting with her friends and time spent with her children and grandchildren was very special.

On Wednesday, December 16, 2020, Ruth died at the age of seventy-two years. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles Westerberg; and one sister, Sandy Mendel. Ruth is survived by her daughter Tammy Westerberg; her son, Paul Westerberg and wife, Amy; three grandchildren, Paxton, Thomas and Logan; three great grandchildren, Keegan, Nimzie and Treston; five brothers, Charles Klein, Kevin Klein and wife, Joan, Kenny Klein, Mike Klein and Mark Klein; and two sisters, Debbie Gohman and husband, Duane, and Kim Hansell and husband, Bret.

A Celebration of life will be held later. Arrangements are with the Anderson Funeral Home and Crematory in Alexandria.
