Ryan Neil Svor was born March 10, 1983 in Alexandria, MN, the son of Warren and Lorri (Jacobson) Svor. He was raised in Alexandria where he graduated from Jefferson High School. Ryan began working with low voltage cable; he worked for Northwoods Cable. At age twenty-five Ryan attended the Wadena Vocational Technical Institute and earned a degree in Electrical Lineworking Technology. Ryan began working as a lineman for Highlines, Inc. out of Paynesville, MN. Ryan?s work took him to many different areas of the country. Following Hurricane Sandy in 2012 Ryan headed out east to begin repairing the damage to the electrical grid. Recently he was in the Rapid City area making repairs following the early snowstorm. Most of Ryan?s day-to-day work was in Iowa. On August 18, 2012 Ryan was united in marriage to Kayla Mattocks at Bethesda Lutheran Church in Alexandria. The couple made their home in Carlos, MN. Ryan enjoyed deer and pheasant hunting. He liked racing, golfing and traveling. Ryan and Kayla enjoyed their endless trips to Mexico. Spending time with his family was very important to Ryan. His work took him away from them and he cherished the time he could be with them. Ryan would have loved to have a normal 9 to 5 job in the area so he could be with his family. Sundays were always a big day to get-together with family before he needed to leave town at 2 AM. The day made him both, happy and crabby. Making friends and family laugh was one of Ryan?s gifts. Even when he was crabby he could make them laugh, and he loved that. On Saturday, November 23, 2013 Ryan died at the age of thirty years. His grandfather, Walter Svor, preceded him in death. Ryan is survived by his wife, Kayla Svor of Carlos; parents, Warren & Lorrie Svor of Alexandria; his grandparents, Harold and Harriet Jacobson of Glenwood, MN and Helen Svor of Benson, MN; brother, Corey Svor and wife, Lacy, of Alexandria; sisters, Marshelle Rutten and husband, Brian, of Alexandria and Sarah Svor and fianc, Clyde Martin, of Tucson, AZ; parents-in-law, Corrie and Diane Mattocks of Carlos and Todd and Donna Cosgrove of Carlos; sister-in-law, Jenna Mattocks of Denver, CO; one nephew, Justin; two nieces, Cassidy and Kate; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
