Sandra ?Sandy? Braunschweig 64, of Alexandria, MN was born on 22 January 1947 in Alexandria, MN at the Catholic Hospital. Sandra was baptized on 11 May 1947 at St. Luke?s Lutheran Church in Garfield, MN. In May of 1947 she moved to Minneapolis, MN with her parents Edward and Olive (Botner) Braunschweig and lived there until 2008. Sandra graduated from South High School in Minneapolis, MN in 1965. Sandra worked at Honeywell in Minneapolis, MN for over 22 years and until recently had been a medical secretary also in Minneapolis, MN. Sandra loved the Alexandria area and moved into town in 2009. Sandy enjoyed life and visiting with relatives, crocheting, going to bingo or the casino and lately had been having special get togethers with family and friends on Sundays to enjoy football games and enjoy snacks and fellowship with relatives and friends. A special lady who wasn't afraid to express her opinion and who enjoyed people expressing theirs. Sandra enjoyed life and tried to make a monthly trip to the Cities to spend quality time with her grandchildren. Sandra died on 13 November 2011 in Alexandria, MN from a heart related condition. Services will be held at St. Luke?s Lutheran Church in Garfield, MN on 19 November 2011 at 11:00 AM. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Lunch will be served at noon. Burial will be at East Moe Cemetery after lunch. Arrangements are being handled by Anderson Funeral Home (www.andersonfuneral.net). Sandra is survived by her son Daniel (Jennifer) and grandchildren David and Rachel Braunschweig of Brooklyn Park, MN. Also surviving are brothers Dale of Osakis, Steve of Blaine, Mark (Diane) of Coon Rapids and Scott (Jennifer) of Plymouth. Sandra was preceded in death by her parents, and sisters Beverly (Gary) Purdham and Marlene Crowder and many close friends. Blessed be the memory of Sandy and memorials preferred to the family. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, November 19, 2011, 11:00 a.m. at St. Luke?s Lutheran Church in Garfield with visitation starting at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be at East Moe Cemetery.
