SaVera Anderson

d. October 15, 2013

SaVera Rose Anderson was born in Brook Park, Minnesota the oldest daughter of William and Ida (Rose) Brechbiel. She graduated from Evansville High School and furthered her education at Hinckley Teachers Training. SaVera was united in marriage to Clinton Anderson of Evansville on June 25, 1946. After their marriage the couple lived in Evansville before moving to Kensington where she taught at District #23 and then they moved to Alexandria. After raising their three daughters (during which time she and Clinton also were active in foster care), SaVera worked at Olson?s Supermarket/Red Owl in Alexandria. She was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday School for many years. Upon retirement she spent many happy years tutoring adults through the Runestone Regional Learning Center, where she was honored for thousands of hours of volunteer service including conducting workshops on teaching aids she developed. SaVera loved spending time with her grandchildren and in later years her great grandchildren. SaVera loved being near the water (but not on it or in it) and many happy days were spent at the trailer by the lake. Camping was another love, culminating in trips with family to several State Parks in recent years. She loved puzzles, especially those involving words, and reading.
