Sharon Karg

March 19, 1941 — April 30, 2015

Sharon Kay Karg, age 74, of Alexandria died on Thursday, April 30, 2015 at the Douglas County Hospital. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 7, 2015 at 1PM at the Anderson Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be held from 5-8PM on Wednesday at the Anderson Funeral Home and also for one hour prior to the service at the chapel on Thursday. Interment will be in the Kinkead Cemetery.

Sharon (Sherry) Karg was born on March 19, 1941 in Mankato, MN the daughter of Earl and Magdaline (Polchow) Roberts. She attended Mankato High School and upon graduating she worked as a telephone operator for Northwestern Bell.

She married Glenn Karg in February 1964. Their two children Jeffrey and Scott reside in the Alexandria area. The Karg family moved to Alexandria from Wisconsin in 1977. Sharon suffered a severe stroke in 1985 and has lived at Bethany Community for 20 plus years. She overcame many obstacles. She learned to speak again, to walk, and to eat solid foods.

Sharon K. Karg died on Thursday, April 30, 2015 after a short illness at the Douglas County Hospital in Alexandria at the age of 74 years old. She is survived by Glenn and two sons Jeffrey and Scott; four granddaughters, Nadia Karg, Samantha Karg, Christina Karg, and Callee Frazier; sister Joan (Robert) Picht; brother Gerald (Nancy) Roberts; and Donna Repp; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, and oldest brother Dean Roberts.

A funeral service was held on Thursday, May 7, 2015 at the Anderson Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Scott Keehn officiating. Kim Byrne provided the music. Interment was in the Kinkead Cemetery.
