Sheila Rae Falk

Sheila Rae Falk, 65 of Eagle Bend, passed away on Wednesday, July 10, 2024. Memorial services will be held on Friday, July 26, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Rose City Evangelical Free Church in Eagle Bend, Minnesota. Visitation will take place one hour prior to services.  

Sheila Rae (Lennes) Falk was born in Browerville, Minnesota on October 19, 1958 to Clarence and Corrine (Sursley) Lennes. She attended school in Eagle Bend, graduating with the class of 1976. During her schooling, Sheila was always bubbly, outgoing, and funny. She enjoyed participating in cheerleading and loved horses and horseback riding, which never quite went the way she wanted resulting in many amusing mishaps. 

On December 17, 1983 Sheila married Gary Falk, and in 1999 they started Sheila’s Place. Sheila loved running her bar and restaurant, and for nearly 16 years it really thrived, especially on wing nights. Throughout her life, Shelia also held many other jobs throughout the area; including: the clinics in Alexandria and Staples, Jill’s Gas and Grocery, and Douglas County Historical Society. 

Besides enjoying her work life, Sheila loved children and found great joy in meeting and making Jessica McGrane, and her children, part of her family. Sheila love cooking and hosting family holiday gatherings; she was always positive, upbeat, and the life of the party. 

Sheila enjoyed the beauty in life. She liked being outside, especially in her garden and working on her flowers. 

Left to cherish her memory are her brother, Tom (Shirley) Lennes of Eagle Bend; friend of many years who was like a daughter, Jessica McGrane; and her children: Mia, Tessa, and Mason; brother-in-law, Jim Larson; aunt, Jean (Jim) Torssenson; 17 nieces and nephews; as well as many other beloved cousins, relatives, and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents; siblings: Jack, Bobby, Clarice, Karen, Twyla, and Michelle. 

Anderson Funeral home in Alexandria is in charge of services for Sheila.
