Steven ?Reno? Ekdahl was born on January 18, 1951, in Alexandria, Minnesota the son of Orville Ekdahl and Donna Myers (Ekdahl). He graduated from Jefferson Senior High School in Alexandria, Class of 1969. On April 3, 1982, Steven was united in marriage to Jacqueline Krohnfeldt in Watertown, South Dakota. Together they raised three children: Nathan, Cassie and Lindsey. Reno was known as a ?Jack of all Trades? and had several different jobs throughout his life. His latest job was at Voyager Aluminum in Brandon. Reno was always willing to help someone. In his younger years he loved to fly and did some skydiving. He also enjoyed fishing, deer hunting, and cutting wood. He will be remembered as very easy going ? nothing seemed to bother him. He was a man who loved life and his greatest joy was being a grandpa. Reno died on Sunday, July 24, 2011 at his home after a brief battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife, Jackie; son, Nathan & wife, Alicia of Ramsey; daughters: Cassie Ekdahl & fianc� Will Tripp of Alexandria, Lindsey & husband, Tom Hawkinson of Glenwood; four grandchildren: Jaiden Ekdahl, Isabella & Lilyanna Tripp, and Emma Hawkinson; brother, Dale & wife, Cindy of Erdahl; sisters: Lisa Moske of St. Cloud, Laurie Jensen & Bob Noyes of Alexandria, Linda & Loren Stoltenberg of Ramsey, Lucene ?Beth? & Duane Schecher of Center City; mother, Donna Myers (Ekdahl); father-in-law, Clifford Krohnfeldt who was a very special part of his life; many aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Orville, mother-in-law, Yvonne Krohnfeldt, and brother-in-law, Grant Moske. Funeral services were held on Thursday, July 28, 2011, 1:00 p.m. at Shalom Lutheran Church with Rev. Grant Aaseng officiating. Pallbearers were Gary Suckow, Connie Krohnfeldt, Matt Eisel, Tom Hawkinson, Will Tripp, and Jonathan Krohnfeldt. Burial was at the Ebenezer Cemetery in Leaf Valley.
