Steven Holte

Steven Ralph Holte was born on October 12, 1948 in Fergus Falls, MN to Ralph Milton Holte and Dorothy Mae (Christopherson) Holte. He was the oldest of 5 siblings. He grew up in Battle Lake where he enjoyed hunting, riding horses, playing music with his brothers, and playing sports. He lost his two younger siblings, Jan and Ross, in separate car accidents as a young man.

Steven married Deborah Collins in 1973 and the couple had 8 children. In 1976, Steve surrendered his life to Jesus and took a job running the Cornerstone Christian Center. He and Deb started taking trips around the U.S. for service projects and Christian festivals. In 1982, Steve and Deb started Key Ministries and took their first trip to Mexico, which was the start of 30 years of ministry to Mexico, Guatemala, and around the United States.

Steve had a heart for those in need, and spent his life pouring into the lives of those less fortunate. He would still be doing this to this day if he had not been diagnosed with progressive supra-nuclear palsy. In spite of the disease, Steve continued to enjoy time with his family and loved ones.

Steve went home to be with his savior on Monday, July 29th, 2019 at the age of 70. He is preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Dorothy; siblings, Jan and Ross.

He is survived by his best friend and ally, Deb; children, Angel (Beau) Zuehl, Cory Holte, Andrew (Jackie) Holte, Ryan (Jess) Holte, Tyler (fiancée Carly) Holte, Tirzah (David) Zeller, Jordan (Nicci) Holte, and Natalie (Gary) Benitez; grandchildren, Jayden, Arrianna, Jarred, Alexa, Ellianna, Cade, Carson, Bennet, Alexandra, Taylor, Hadley, Isaiah, Keziah, Leyton, Harrison, and Ayla; brothers, Tom, Tim, and Chris, and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be on Thursday, August 1st, from 4-7 PM at the Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria, and will continue at Alexandria Covenant Church at 10 AM on Friday, August 2nd, followed by the funeral service at 11 AM. Interment to follow at First Lutheran Cemetery in Battle Lake.
