Steven James Taillefer was born on May 2, 1997 in Coon Rapids, Minnesota to Duane and Yvette Taillefer. A couple months after he was born the family moved from Andover to Alexandria. Steven was baptized at Emmanuel Episcopal Church in Alexandria. He attended Voyager Elementary School, Discovery Middle School and Jefferson Senior High School where he was an outstanding student. Steven enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, and playing with the family dogs Max and Ruby. He loved many sports, and was a talented athlete, especially in baseball. Steven was involved with the First Lutheran Youth Group where he was confirmed in 2012. He enjoyed last summer?s church youth trip to Pensacola and New Orleans and was looking forward to this summer?s mission trip to Denver, CO. Steven was a kind young man who was a friend to all. Steven will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. Steven died on March 13, 2013 at his home at the age of 15. He is survived by his loving parents, Duane and Yvette Taillefer; siblings, Daniel and Michael Taillefer and Wesley and Hannah Graves; grandparents, Lowell and Char Halvorson of Fergus Falls; uncle, Kent (Gretchen) Halvorson and cousins Alexis and Cortney of St. Michael; and aunt, Rebecca Halvorson of Plymouth. Steven is preceded in death by his grandparents, Richard and Helen Taillefer; and aunt, Denise Branville. A funeral service was held on Monday, March 18, 2013 at First Lutheran Church in Alexandria with Reverend Greg Billberg officiating. Music was provided by organist, Randy Morken. Interment was in Kinkead Cemetery in Alexandria. Casket bearers were Spencer Lucas, Danny Kuhn, Grant Toivonen, Travis Krueger, Tyler Owen, Parker Montgomery. Honorary casket bearers were Steven?s former teammates, classmates and friends. Arrangements are with the Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria www.andersonfuneral.net
