Susan Anne Green was born on September 14, 1948, in St. Paul, Minnesota to Lawrence (Bud) and Jeanne (Fabeck) Stark. Sue was the second of 10 children. The family lived in New Richmond, Wisconsin before moving to Kensington when Sue was 11. She graduated from Kensington High School in 1967.
Sue was united in marriage to John Green on February 3, 1968, at Our Lady of the Runestone Catholic Church in Kensington. Together they had 3 sons, Matthew, Joe, and Anthony. Sue worked for a few years at the Kensington Bank and then worked at the Kensington Elementary School as the cook for many years. The family-owned and operated Farmer’s Elevator in Kensington, where Sue served as the bookkeeper of the business. Sue continued working at Farmer’s Elevator after John passed in 2006 until her retirement in January 2020. On December 26, 2009, Sue married Darryl (Dub) Weidenbach at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Alexandria.
Sue cherished her time at the lake with the grandkids making buns, sewing, playing games, enjoying a good glass of wine, and just joking around. The kids would cause a little mischief just hoping to see Grandma shake her finger at them and say “Tut Tut”. Sue loved the holidays especially Christmas with family. She loved to travel with family and friends and after retirement enjoyed going on day-long road trips with Dub.
Sue had a very strong Catholic faith. She was baptized on September 26, 1948, at Guardian Angels in Lake Elmo, MN received her First Communion on June 17, 1956, at St. Patricks in New Richmond, WI, and was Confirmed on October 3, 1961, at St. John Nepomuk in Lowry, MN. She was a member of Our Lady of The Runestone Catholic Church since its founding, serving on many committees and boards.
Sue died unexpectedly on Saturday, April 10, 2021, at the St. Cloud Hospital at the age of 72. In Sue’s generous spirit, she was able to be a tissue donor to help others in need. Sue is survived by her husband, Dub Weidenbach; sons, Matthew (Sue) Green of Alexandria, Joe (Amber) Green of Lowry, and Anthony (Amy) Green of Kensington; grandchildren, Mitchell, Vienna, Brock, Isabelle, Ivan, Berlynn, Austin, Alexis, and Alivia; Dub’s children, Kate (Brett) Bloedorn of Alexandria, and Christin (Warren) Salvog of Lowry; Dub’s grandsons, Tyler, Blake, Aiden, and Owen; siblings, Ellen (Dan) Walther, Marilu (Glen) Belgum, Larry Stark, Dorothy (Larry) Sayre, Christine Stark, Noreen (Brian) Thorpe, Jackie (Dan) McFarlane, Annie (Jim) Koranda, and Mike (Paula) Stark; and many nieces and nephews. Sue is preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Jeanne; husband, John; sister-in-law, Eileen Stark; and brothers-in-law, Bob Green and Tom Vickerman.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 2:00 PM on Friday, April 16, 2021, at Our Lady of the Runestone Catholic Church in Kensington. Visitation will be held from 5-8 PM with parish prayers at 7:30 PM on Thursday, April 15, 2021, at Our Lady of the Runestone Catholic Church and one hour prior to the service at the church. A live stream and recording of the service will be available 2:00 PM on Friday, April 16, 2021, on the funeral home website. To protect the safety of all, masks will be required.
