OBITUARY
Suzanne Carol Trumm, the daughter of E.B. and Minna (Brix) Lindoo, was born on February 1, 1930 in Minneapolis, MN. She grew up in Milltown, WI where she graduated from high school in 1948. Suzie pursued an art major at the University of Minnesota and competed on the Synchronized Swimming Team.
While attending a Kappa Delta Sorority social with the Phi Delta Chi Fraternity, she met the love of her life William Trumm. This was a match made in heaven because of both families owning drug stores. And since both families never closed their stores except for Sundays, Suzie and William were united in marriage at Milltown Lutheran Church in Milltown, WI on Sunday, August 27, 1950. After living in Minneapolis for a short time, they moved to Alexandria so William could work as a pharmacist at the family business, Trumm Drug. Three children were born to this marriage, Sue Anne, Paul, and Mark; five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Suzie raised her family by teaching them to be strong, determined, active, and loving, all through the way she lived her life. She showed her children and grandchildren the importance of being involved with church. Suzie taught Sunday school and was involved in other First Lutheran church activities for many years. She sang in the choir, volunteered on the Arts committee and provided some of the artwork for the church. She also showed them to be active in the community. Suzie loved the arts and supported AAAA and Theater Le Homme Dieu throughout the years. She was cast in many productions, Fiddler on the Roof, Hello Dolly, and Oklahoma just to name a few. Suzie was an artist and provided her talents on the sets of different productions as well as artwork and calligraphy for a church cookbook and anniversary history album.
Since Suzie loved swimming, she helped at the school giving swimming lessons to many children and also was the Leader of the Aquateens, an Alexandria synchronized swim team for a number of years. She loved the summer to go swimming, boating, and canoeing at the lake. She loved spending time with family at the lake home and playing card games. Suzie became an excellent cook and always provided plenty of food for her family and guests. Besides being an excellent cook, Suzie was an avid gardener. She grew the largest canna lilies and the most vegetables in the neighborhood. She was lovingly called “Ma Trumm”, by many of her children’s friends, for the love and attention she gave to each of them. Suzie did not have a shy bone in her body, which enabled her to be confident in all things she did.
Family was the most important part of Suzie’s life. She attended all of her children events during high school and college. She enjoyed traveling with her family to Yellowstone, Washington DC, and Galveston Bay, TX. She also enjoyed traveling with William on trips to Spain and the Virgin Islands. Suzie was an energetic and lively woman who knew how to tell a joke. She had a quick wit and a good sense of humor. Her energy, enthusiasm, and love will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
