Sylvia Bernice Julseth was born on September 8, 1923, in Bottineau, North Dakota the daughter of Norin and Mabel Erickson. She attended country school through the 8th grade. When Sylvia was in her teens she and her parents moved to Minnesota. Sylvia was united in marriage to Gordon Julseth on January 8, 1942 in Evansville, Minnesota. The couple honeymooned in Fargo and made their home between Brandon and Evansville where they farmed for many years. In later years Sylvia worked at Midland Co-Op, Arrowwood, and Crestview Manor Nursing Home. She loved working in her flower gardens, was a great cook and baker and also loved to sew and crochet. Sylvia had a great love for her family and was a wonderful caretaker. She was proud of being a military wife and mother. Mrs. Julseth was very involved at Chippewa Lutheran Church in Brandon as a Sunday School teacher and with other activities. Sylvia moved to Evansville Care Center in Evansville a few years ago and made many friends while living there. She is survived by her sons: Richard of Brandon, Norman (Lana) of Inver Grove Heights, MN, Warren of Alexandria, Wallace of Alexandria; daughters: Barbara Wagner of Alexandria, Carol (Kerry) Holmberg of Brandon, Audrey Schroeder of Alexandria; eight grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, sister-in-law, Irene Larson and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon; grandson, Andy; her parents: Norin and Mabel; brother-in-law, Andrew Larson. Memorials are preferred to Diabetes Foundation. Sylvia had a great love for her grandchildren and was a wonderful caretaker. She was a proud military wife and mother. Memorial service was held on Tuesday, September 11, 2012, 11:00 a.m. at Anderson Funeral Home with Rev. Michael Johnson officiating. Burial was at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis on Wednesday, September 12, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. Arrangements were with the Anderson Funeral Home. www.andersonfuneral.net
