Tamara Noding

Tamara Noding Tamara Lee Noding was born in Appleton, Minnesota, on July 7, 1960, the daughter of Orville and Eunice (Polk) Noding. She attended Danvers Elementary School and graduated from Benson High School in 1978. She continued her education at the Alexandria Technical College where she graduated with a degree in Truck Driving. Tammy drove over the road for a period of about three years before she began working at Donnelly Plastics in Alexandria in 1986. She continued on in that job until 1989 when she began doing day care. On July 6, 1992, Tammy was severely injured in an automobile accident. She recuperated and began to learn life as a quadriplegic at North Memorial Hospital and later at the Courage Center. On August 3, 1993 she came home to live and did so with the help of her friend, Errol Ostlund, who has been her soul-mate and caretaker ever since. The couple, and Tammy?s son, Mathaies, moved into their new home in June 2000. Prior to her accident, Tammy enjoyed crocheting, gardening, canning, and baking homemade bread. She also enjoyed antiques and anything Victorian. Tammy also collected miniature clocks, cookie jars, and cherubs or angels. Since her accident, her family members admired her courage and her mental strength. She died at her home on September 5, 2011, at the age of 51 years. Tammy is survived by her significant other Errol Ostlund of Alexandria, sons Mathaies Noding of Alexandria and Troy Barnes of Fairmont; mother Eunice D. Noding of Willmar; sisters Sheila Senechal of St. Paul and Karen Kittelson of Sioux Falls, SD; and nieces Laura Svien, Stephanie Senechal, and Janelle Kittelson. Tammy was preceded in death by her father and brother, Joel Noding. Funeral services were held on Friday, September 9, 2011, at the United Methodist Church in Alexandria with Rev. Jeff Hansen officiating. Music was provided by Kirk Landman and Tom Mulder. Interment was in the Benson City Cemetery, Benson Minnesota with Jon Scott Buyck, Boyd Buyck, Mark Polk and Aubrey Polk serving as pallbearers.
