Teresa E. Daigle (Nadeau) peacefully passed away surrounded by her loved ones on Friday, July 2, 2021, at age 95. She is survived by daughters, Vanessa, Trina (Greg), Victoria (Scott), Patricia and Laurie (Scott). She was preceded in death by her husband Gilbert R. Daigle, daughter Karen, and sons Christopher and Timothy.
Teresa was born in Fort Kent, Maine, where she grew up with her parents and 12 siblings. She earned her nursing degree from Maine General Hospital in 1947 and completed her clinicals at John Hopkins University School of Medicine. Teresa married Gilbert R. Daigle in 1947. In her early 20s, she contracted Tuberculosis and spent three years quarantined, living in a Maine sanatorium. Throughout her life, she worked as a registered nurse, while raising eight children and moving and living in several different U.S. states before settling in Minnesota. She retired and moved from the Twin Cities to Alexandria in 1990. She loved living on Lake Ida and enjoyed her retirement gardening, playing Bridge and Charlemagne, and spending time with family and close friends.
A visitation memorial will be held from 5-7 pm on Wednesday, July 14, 2021, at Anderson Funeral Home, Alexandria, MN. The burial service will be held at 1 pm on Wednesday, August 11, 2021, at the Fort Snelling Veterans Cemetery in St. Paul, MN. Everyone is welcome to attend. A brief gathering time for fellowship and reflection of Teresa’s life will immediately follow the burial service at a nearby location to be determined.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked for donations to the Disabled Veterans of America.
