Thomas Kohout

Thomas Joseph Kohout completed his life January 25, 2014. Tom was born November 10, 1932 to Thomas and Mary Kohout in Fort Dodge, Iowa. He graduated from St. Joseph Catholic School (now Gehlen) in LeMars, Iowa in 1951. He served in the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1955. Tom married Martha Walker in September, 1957. They moved to Orange City, Iowa in 1968. While living in Orange City, Tom and his brother Bill successfully expanded their family business, K-Products. Tom and Martha were members of Dover Ave. Alliance Church in Orange City. They made their home in Alexandria, Minnesota for the past 20 years, where Tom was an active member in New Life Christian Church. Tom and Martha raised five children: Anne (Kohout) VanderHaar- Phil; David Kohout - Lesli; Charles Kohout - Hope; Robert Kohout - Mary, and J. Samuel Kohout - Kelly. There are 13 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Tom was also blessed with four brothers and four sisters - Bud, Jack, Bob, Bill, Pat, Jean, Mary Jo, and Margaret. A funeral service will be held 10 AM on Saturday, February 1, 2014 at New Life Christian Church with Reverend John Taplin officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday at the Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria from 5-7 PM with prayers at 6 PM and also one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. Arrangements are with the Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria.
