Todd Raymond Benson

Todd Benson, of Alexandria, died on Saturday, September 28, 2024. A visitation will be held on Monday, October 14, 2024, 12:00 - 1:00 PM at the Anderson Funeral Home with a Memorial Service at 1:00 PM.

Todd Raymond Benson was born February 27, 1959, and passed away peacefully on September 28, 2024.

Todd graduated from Murdock High School in Murdock, Minnesota. He lived and worked in Murdock for a few years primarily as a tour bus driver for Riley's Bus Service. He then began a career in janitorial and handymen service which took him from Murdock to Texas then back to Minnesota again where he resided in Alexandria.

Todd had a love for the outdoors; hunting, fishing and watching wildlife. Recently his favorite activity was to sit by the fire in his yard and watch deer and pheasants in the meadow.

Todd loved working with his hands and was quite good at it. He was never short of any type of tool; you would often find him tinkering on "Grandpa" the old family pickup.

He crafted a small trailer with a smoker and a grill and had it all set up for a tasty cookout. As he worked outside his cat Bear would be seen laying on the windowsill watching his every move.

Todd was a collector of several different items he had meticulously displayed throughout his home. One look and you could see the pride he had in his life.

Todd had a great sense of humor and was an excellent storyteller. He could be considered the Benson Family Historian as he rarely forgot a name or date in the family history.

Todd is survived by his son Stan; sister Jill and nephew Blake (Tiffany).

He was preceded in death by his parents Stan and Barb; infant brother Mark; and his grandparents.
