Todd Young

Todd Young, age 48 of Brandon, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, November 7, 2017. A funeral service will take place on Saturday, November 11, 2017 at 2:00 PM at the Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria, MN. Visitation will take place Friday, November 10, 2017 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Anderson Funeral Home and also one hour prior to the funeral the day of.

Todd Anthony Young was born on May 1, 1969 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He graduated from Proctor High School and then attended Duluth Vocational School for drafting and engineering. In high school and during college he worked in the shipyards on Lake Superior with his brother. After college he worked at Northern Engraving, Menards and then at Douglas Machine for the next twenty-six years as an engineer. It was while working at Northern Engraving, that he met Kimberly Holtet. The couple was united in marriage on December 23, 1988. Their marriage was blessed with two daughters, Carrie and Kristine.

While at Douglas Machine Todd worked hard at his job, and often was a mentor and teacher to those around him. He was a senior engineer, and recently had a machine from 2014 that was patented. Todd enjoyed hunting and fishing when he was not working. He was a man that was helpful and could fix anything. He was never afraid to get his hands dirty. His most recent project was fixing their old barn.

Todd was the husband and father that was described as amazing. He was supportive and a protector of his wife and daughter’s. He Inspired those around him to be better. Todd could be found playing or snuggling with his grandkids and he was his daughter’s hero.

At the age of forty-eight, Todd died suddenly on Tuesday, November 7, 2017. He is survived by his wife, Kimberly Young; daughters, Carrie (Micky) Wunderlich and Kristine (Seth) Pierce; grandchildren, David, Dominic, Dakota and Savannah Wunderlich and Ava, Aleah and Jonathan Pierce; father, Russell Young Jr.; Sister, Holley-Leigh (Bradley) Walgren; nieces and nephews, Sandy and two sons, Adam, Felicia and two sons, Russell IV, and Justin. Todd is preceded in death by his mother, Yvonne; and brothers, Kurtis and Russell III.
