Tonia Frick

Tonia Ann Frick, the daughter of Donald and Delores (Warner) Frick was born on November 27, 1970 in St. Paul, MN.  Tonia lived her entire life with special needs due to severe brain damage at birth.

Tonia grew up in St. Paul and then moved with her family to Alexandria in 1981.  She attended District 206 schools and graduated from Jefferson High School in 1992.  Tonia was able to live at Cedar House since 1989, where she lived with her roommates Jill and Amada for almost 30 years.  Tonia was lovingly cared for by Lutheran Social Services.

Tonia had a sensitive heart and beautiful smile.  She enjoyed watching the Price Is Right and would get excited when the announcer said “Come On Down!”  Tonia always had her little stuffed animals to carry around and she loved her pet dog “Lady”.  Working at DAC was another joy she had.  She liked the people she worked with and the counselors who helped her.  Tonia was a true angel and will missed by those who knew and loved her.

Tonia A. Frick died on Thursday, March 8, 2018 at her home at the Cedar House in Alexandria.  She is survived by her loving mother, Delores Frick; brother Ron (Velvet) Frick; nieces and nephew, Alexa Frick, Tonia Frick, and Ryan Frick; and many aunts and uncles..  She was preceded in death by her father Donald Frick and her grandparents.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at 11 AM at New Life Christian Church in Alexandria.  Visitation will take place on Monday, March 12, 2018 from 4-7 PM at the Anderson Funeral Home and also for one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday.  Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery later in the spring.

In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to Lakes Area Special Olympics.
