Ursula Charlotte (Becker) Wachter was born on February 10, 1929 in Parkers Prairie, MN to Herman and Margaret (Luft) Becker. She was raised on the farm along with two brothers, and attended country school through the 8th grade. As a young adult, Ursula ventured out to Billings, Montana, where she met and married A.J. Sandefur. Ursula and A.J. had two children, Susan and Bill. Ursula found love again on January 15, 1959 when she married Milferd Wachter at Zion Lutheran Church in Alexandria. She lived on a farm on Gene’s Barn Road until the early 1980s when she and Milferd sold the farm and moved just across the highway. In 2013, Ursula moved to Bethel Manor, and then to her final home, Edgewood Vista, in 2016. In her golden years, Ursula enjoyed bowling league, gardening (especially tending to her peonies), canning, playing cards, and baking her signature caramel rolls. Ursula was loved by all and will be remembered most for having the best pickled beets around.
