Victoria Susan (Kuehl) Johnson Mullen was born on December 5, 1954, to Otis and Evangeline (Helgeson) Kuehl in Alexandria, MN. Vicky and her four siblings grew up next to her family’s homestead farm where she loved to ride her horse, help on the farm and garden, and play with her many cousins. She attended country school at District 9 Lake Louise School, Central School and graduated from Jefferson Senior High School in 1972.
Vicky got married and raised two children, Jennifer and Matthew. She worked at a variety of different jobs in the area, however her primary role was homemaker and raising her two children. They built their home next to the family’s farm and lived there until the late ‘90s.
On July 15, 2006, Vicky was united in marriage to Kevin Mullen at their home on Lake Latoka. She worked as a gaming manager at various local establishments and retired in 2018.
Vicky loved living on the lake. She enjoyed fishing, having fish fry’s, going for slow cruises on the pontoon, or watching her family enjoy the water. She loved to play cards and board games with family; many game nights lasted into the early morning hours. She also loved gardening, cooking, traveling and spending time with family and friends. She was especially proud of her two granddaughters, attending almost all of their activities, supporting their hobbies completely. They were the lights of her life. Vicky was a devoted daughter to her father as he battled Alzheimer’s and enjoyed weekly bingo dates with her mother.
Vicky’s personality was so caring and compassionate to all she loved, even opening her home to her children’s friends becoming a surrogate mother to many. She was a fierce friend and enjoyed their company with nights out, costume parties, football games and Nascar races.
