Violette Hausmann

OBITUARY Violette Ruth Hausmann was born on November 21, 1922 on the family farm in Elmo Township, Ottertail County, MN, the daughter of William Sr. and Jessie (Fuller) Wark. She graduated from Parkers Prairie High School as valedictorian in 1940 and was baptized and confirmed on November 17, 1942 at St. Paul?s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Miltona, MN. Violette met the love of her life Herbert Hausmann and they were united in marriage on October 10, 1941 in Alexandria, MN. Their union was blessed with five sons Duane, Gerald, Dale, David, and LeRoy. Violette was a homemaker and raised her boys on a farm near Kensington with lots of love. She believed in education and proudly watched all of her boys attend college. She was a member of the School Board for District #63 for many years. She also taught Sunday school at Zion Lutheran Church in Hoffman and was active in many church circles and auxiliaries. She loved to go dancing with Herbert and play whist with family and friends. She was an avid reader and was a tremendous cook. She liked to be outdoors and tend to her flower and vegetable gardens. She made the best jams, jellies, and pickles from her garden. She loved to watch her grandchildren and great grandchildren play and grow throughout the years. She will be missed by those who knew and loved her. In 1980 Violette and Herbert moved off the farm to their home on Lake Latoka. In 1994 she moved into Alexandria and resided at Cedar Hills Condominiums. Violette R. Hausmann died on Saturday, December 11, 2010 at West Wind Village in Morris, MN at the age of 88 years. She is survived by her sons Duane (Bonnie) Hausmann of Morris; Gerald (Julie) Hausmann of Kensington; Dale (Deb) Hausmann of Staples; David (Connie) Hausmann of Glenwood; LeRoy (Pat) Hausmann of Frazee; 16 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; sister-in-law Opal Wark of Alexandria; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Herbert Hausmann (1990) brothers: George, John, Clyde, Wallace, Wilbur, and William Jr. (Ted). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, December 14, 2010 at Zion Lutheran Church in Alexandria, MN with the Reverends Terry Finnern and William F. Moeller officiating. Irma Brockberg was the organist. Interment was in Kinkead Cemetery. Casket Bearers were all of Violette?s grandsons: Tom Hausmann, Terry Hausmann, Troy Hausmann, Ryan Hausmann, Shawn Hausmann, Nathan Hausmann, Gabriel Hausmann, Darrin Hausmann, Chad Hausmann, and Dustin Hausmann. Honorary Casket Bearers were all of Violette?s granddaughters: Brandy Christian, Shannon Hausmann, Jessica Hausmann, Nicole Hausmann, Heather Hausmann, and Melissa Hausmann.
