VIRGINIA A. ULM Virginia Anita Ulm was born on March 22, 1915 in Mason City, Iowa the daughter of Louis and Elsie Buirge. She had been a resident of Alexandria since 1943 and worked at the Alex State Bank for a number of years as secretary to George Buscher. She was longtime member of the Eastern Star and a lifetime member of the United Methodist Church. Virginia was president of WSCS, she sang in the church choir, sang solo, taught Sunday School and organized a children?s choir. Virginia A. Ulm died on Thursday, August 29, 2013 at Bethany Home in Alexandria at the age of 98 years old. She is survived by her loving son Donald Ulm of Minneapolis, MN; extended family James and Charlene Mayer and many dear and close friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Ted of 54 years of marriage. A memorial service was held on Tuesday September 24, 2013 at the United Methodist Church in Alexandria with the Reverend Jeff Hansen officiating. Gale Maxwell was the organist. Interment was in the Kinkead Cemetery. Arrangements are with the Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria
