Vivian Tuttle

Vivian Mae Eblen was born January 11, 1931 in Benson, MN, the daughter of Elmo and Lillian (Heschke) Eblen. She was raised in Hancock, MN until the age of eight years. Her family then moved to Forada, MN where she attended school at District 3 and later graduated from Central High school in Alexandria, MN in 1950. On September 28, 1950 Vivian was united in marriage to Clarence Tuttle at the Forada Presbyterian Church. The couple moved around in their first years together, living in Pinewood, MN, White Springs and Bozeman, MT and Wichita, KS. In 1953 they returned to the Forada area where they have continued to reside. The couple was blessed with four children, Marty, Monty, Bonnie and Robin. Vivian worked for Jerry?s Jack & Jill, Verna?s Supper Club and Cuddahy Packing. In 1968 she started with 3M in Alexandria and worked there for the next twenty-five years. Vivian retired in 1993. Vivian had a strong sense of community and volunteerism. She served on the District 445 school board and was a member of the Ladies Aid at Forada Presbyterian Church. For many years she actively participated in cancer walks and supported Relay for Life. Vivian was a member of the 3M Club and Later a member of 3M Retirees Club. She also loved participating in any Red Hat events. Vivian kept herself fit by walking often. If you walked along side her you needed to be fit to keep up. She enjoyed gardening vegetables and flowers. She also spent time doing embroidery work and sewing Hospitality was very important to Vivian. She always provided hospitality, even through her illness. Vivian enjoyed visiting and making new friends wherever she went; she could always see the best in someone. She always made time for people, and if you visited her home you were going to be fed. She was an excellent baker and cook. On Thursday, July 12, 2012 Vivian died at her home. She was preceded in death by her sister, Ruby Brackin; hree brothers, Earl, Marvin and Merle Eblen.; one brother-in-law Lloyd Brackin; and one sister-in-law, Lillian Eblen. Vivian is survived by her husband, Clarence Tuttle of Forada; two sons, Marty Tuttle and wife, Laura, of Maple Grove, MN and Monty Tuttle and wife, Shana, of Stuttgart, Germany; two daughters, Bonnie Gades and husband, Kevin, of Alexandria and Robin Schuhmacher and husband, Richard, of Glenwood; grandchildren, Dobbey Johnson, Tony Johnson, Corey Gades, Bittany Houghtaling, Brady Gades, Jennifer Schuhmacher, Alicia Schuhmacher, Hilary Kristal, Amy Sneltjes, Ashley Tuttle, Kara Tuttle, Mason Tuttle and Kalen Tuttle; great grandchildren, Megan, Scott, Taylor, Ariana, Kylee, Heather, Emily, Madison, Blake, Jeremiah and Eli; brother, Roger Eblen and wife, Jane, of Biloxi, MS; sisters, Alice Chan and husband, Frank, of Alexandria and Lois Winkel and husband, John, of Benson; one sister-in-law, Muriel Karrow Eblen of Alexandria; and many nieces and nephews A funeral service was held Thursday, July 19, 2012 at Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria. Reverend Kathy Shuler was the officiant. Interment in Hudson Cemetery will be at a later date. Honorary attendees included all of Vivian?s grandchildren and great grandchildren. Arrangements were with Anderson Funeral Home.
