OBITUARY Lavonne ?Vonnie? Clair Hardy was born on October 2, 1947 in Winger, MN the daughter of Vernon and Mildred (Lyons) Miliander. She graduated from McIntosh High school in 1965. She married her husband Joe Hardy on May 29, 1965 in Crookston, MN. Together they made their home in Alexandria where they raised two children Kevin and Sheila. Vonnie worked at the Singer Downtown Store and JoAnn Fabrics in the mall for many years. She also did alterations for Jackie J?s Bridal in Alexandria. Vonnie loved sewing, knitting, crocheting, gardening, playing games and just being around family and friends. She enjoyed making clothes and quilts for her family and friends. Vonnie watched her grandchildren?s sports, dance, and music events whenever she could. She liked to read and relax in the boat while Joe fished and always liked a good garage sale. She was devoted to God and her family. She will be missed by those who knew and loved her. Vonnie died at the age 66 at the Douglas County Hospital on Tuesday, December 17, 2013 after a courageous 3 � year battle with cancer. She is survived by her devoted husband of 48 years Joe Hardy of Carlos, MN; son Kevin (LaNell) Hardy of Alexandria, MN; daughter Sheila (Ray) Sailer of Rosemount, MN; four grandchildren Amy and Ryan Sailer and Kendra and Aubrie Hardy; brothers Art (Lois) Miliander of Menasha, WI; Dallas (Laurel) Miliander of Grand Rapids, MN; sisters Delores (Darrell) Rice of Winger, MN; Janet Flikke of Spring Branch, TX; Sarah (Allen) Springer of Moore, MT; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister MaryAnn Miliander and brother Raymond Miliander. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 21 at 10:00 a.m. with visitation one hour before at the Arrowwood Resort and Conference Center in the Lake Darling Ballroom in Alexandria. Visitation will be Friday, December 20 from 4-7 p.m. at the Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria. Interment will be at Kinkead Cemetery following the service.
