Alexandria

Wayne Mosher, 68 of Alexandria, passed away on January 12, 2025 at Alomere Healthcare Center. Funeral Services will take place on Saturday, January 18, 2025 at Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria at 11:30 AM, with a public visitation one hour prior to services. Burial will be at Kinkead Cemetery in Alexandria.

Wayne Charles Mosher was born on August 19, 1956 to Doralean (Blake) and Archie Mosher in Moorhead, Minnesota. He was one of three boys born to the couple who would spend a lifetime together hunting, fishing, and going on countless adventures.

In 1963, the family moved to Minneapolis where Archie owned and operated service stations. It was a family business, so when Wayne was not attending school in Hopkins, or out fishing and hunting with his dad and brothers, he could be found working. Together, the family also enjoyed visiting cousins in other towns and exploring new lakes.

While on a blind double date in 1985, Wayne met DeLyte Wascheck. They were kindred spirits and quickly became inseparable. They were married on December 12, 1989 and soon after purchased the Windjammer Resort on Lake Carlos in Alexandria, where they raised their family. Together, they enjoyed going to Canada in the summers where they would fish on Rainy Lake.

As their three boys got older, Wayne and DeLyte enjoyed taking trips to casinos and vacationing down south in the winters. The couple ran their resort until DeLyte’s passing on September 17, 2020. After her passing, Wayne’s health also declined. Despite this, he was still able to have many good days roadside hunting with his brothers and sons and also do the occasional fishing. In early January of 2025, Wayne was placed on hospice. Wayne passed away on January 12, 2025; he was 68 years old.

Left to cherish his memory are his boys: Joe (Tracy) Klersy, Michael Klersy (Marty Normand), Dustin Klersy; grandchildren: Amanda, Derek, Travis, and Lance; brothers: Gary (Lorraine) Mosher, Lyle Mosher; as well as many beloved relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Archie and Doralean Mosher; and several treasured aunts, uncles, and cousins.
