Wayne Ray Rediehs

June 25, 1943 — September 9, 2024

Alexandria

Gone from our lives, but never absent from our hearts, our much loved husband, dad and grandpa passed away at his home, surrounded by love on September 9, 2024.

Wayne Ray Rediehs was born in Alexandria, Minnesota on June 25, 1943 to Raymond and Francis (Wachter) Rediehs. He was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Carlos where he continued to be a lifelong member. His early years were spent on his parents farm learning and working side by side with his father. After graduating from Jefferson High School in 1961, a local Miltona gal captured his eye and his heart. Wayne married Lois Mrnak at Spruce Hill church September 7, 1963. After a few years of marriage they were able to purchase a nearby farm and start their own farm operation that included dairy and crops. To this union four helping hands were born Troy, Cory, Lyndi and Trevor. Affectionately called the ‘big kids’ and the ‘little kids’ when delegating chores around the farm.

One of Wayne’s favorite sayings was ‘one day at a time” which served him well through his years of dairy and farming. He lived a good and faithful life with humility, integrity and a strong work ethic which he was proud to say he and Lois shared and passed on to their children. He retired from dairy farming in 2002 but continued to farm the land with Troy and Trevor until his health declined in the last year.

Through the years Wayne and Lois enjoyed casino trips, fishing adventures, weekly card games with friends and family trips with their adult children and grandchildren. His dairy retirement also afforded him the time to start enjoying coffee hour with other local retirees to share stories (gossip), jokes and reminisce.

Left to mourn his loss are his wife of 61 years Lois Rediehs, children Troy (Lisa) Rediehs, Cory Rediehs, Lyndi (Darrin) Thesing, Trevor Rediehs (Vicki); Grandchildren Shelby (Austin) Thesing-Peelor, Tyler Rediehs, Jonah Thesing, Payton Thesing, Brandon Rediehs and Great grandson Fennick Thesing.

Wayne was preceded in death by his parents Raymond and Francis Rediehs and siblings Lois (Ray) Lubeck, R’Lou (Bob) Baum, Donna (Dale) Kalpin and Tom Rediehs.
