Wendy Swiridow, age 41, of Alexandria, died Sunday, April 12, 2015. A funeral service will be held 11 AM Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at the Fahlun Lutheran Church near Nelson, MN.. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday, April 14, 2015 from 5 to 7 PM at the Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria. Additional visitation will be one hour prior to the service at church.
Obituary
Wendy Meyer was born April 11, 1974 in Minneapolis, MN, the daughter of James and Jennifer (Shackle) Meyer. She grew up in the Twin Cities and graduated from Eagan High School.
Wendy worked for Rainbow Foods and McGlynn’s Bakery. Wendy met Chad Swiridow and the two of them were joined in marriage in September 1997 at Praise Lutheran Church in the Twin Cities. The couple was blessed with three children, Anthony, Olivia, and Gracie. They made their home in Kenyon, MN for four years.
In 2012 Wendy and her children moved to Alexandria to be closer to her family. Wendy worked for two years at Prairie Community Services, one year at Knute Nelson and she has been working the last eight years at the Alexandria Opportunity Center.
Wendy enjoyed scrapbooking, looming, roses, monkeys and essential oils. She loved NASCAR and Dale Earnhardt, Jr., number 88, was the driver she cheered for most. Her television was usually tuned in to a NASCAR race. Wendy served as the family photographer. She loved her family, loved her nieces and nephews and loved warm hugs.
On Sunday, April 12, 2015 Wendy died at the age of forty-one years. She was preceded in death by all of her grandparents. Wendy is survived by her fiancé, Chad Olson of Alexandria; children, Anthony Swiridow, Olivia Swiridow and Gracie Swiridow, all of Alexandria; parents, James and Jennifer Meyer of Alexandria; brother, Chris Meyer and wife, Mandy of Prior Lake, MN; sister, Cathy Bisser and husband, Joel of Farmington, MN; nieces and nephew, Carley Meyer, Emma Bisser and Carson Meyer; and several aunts and uncles.
