William (Bill) Joseph Trousil was born on February 16, 1962 in Alexandria to Maynard and Deanne Trousil. He was baptized and confirmed at St. John Nepomuk Catholic Church in Reno Township. Bill graduated from Jefferson High School in Alexandria in 1980. After graduation Bill started his dairy farm. Bill was united in marriage to Linda Eblen on May 17, 1985 at St. John Nepomuk Catholic Church in Reno Township. The couple made their home and farmed together on Deanne?s family farm. The couple was blessed with two children, Bradley born on April 7, 1987 and Cassandra born on August 16, 1990. Bill was diagnosed with colon cancer in April 2008 and was in remission until April of 2009. Bill was a past president of FFA, on the board of directors for the Alexandria Bowling Association and currently president of the DHIA. Bill enjoyed bowling, playing volleyball and softball, playing cards being an avid canasta player, going to the races at Viking Speedway, going to auctions and dairy sales, and being involved in 4-H with his children. Most of all he enjoyed his profession of farming. He also loved being with his family and friends. Bill died on Saturday, January 16, 2010 at his home surrounded by his family at the age of 47. He is survived by his loving wife of 24 years, Linda; son, Bradley; daughter, Cassandra; parents, Maynard and Deanne Trousil of Lowry; brother, Bruce (Cindy) Trousil of Alexandria; grandmother, Emily Trousil of Alexandria; mother and father-in law, Roy and Joyce Eblen of Staples; sister-in-laws, Nancy Eblen of Motley, Wendy (Denny) Holub of Motley, Kathy (Todd) Corner of Baxter, and Carol Eblen (friend, Russ Saether) of Staples; nieces and nephews, Bret, Kaylee, and Brandon Trousil, Courtney Eblen, Tyler and Brady Holub, Jacob and Brittany Corner and Hillary Eblen; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Bill is preceded in death by his grandparents, James and Ruth Trousil, and Albin Trousil; aunt, Dorothy Chlian; and cousin, Brian Dynda. A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Wednesday, January 20, 2010 at St. John Nepomuk Catholic Church in Reno Township with Reverend Roger Thoennes officiating. Music was provided by organist, Ann Zavadil and soloist, Karen Tolifson. Interment was in the Bohemian Independent Cemetery in Lake Mary Township. Casket bearers were Scott Smedstad, Scott Thompson, Kevin Klimek, Milton Brede, Loren Jansen, Tim Kalina, Joe Miles, and Dean Radil. Honorary casket bearers were his bowling teammates, Jim Bill, Dick Woelfel, Ray Myers, Jeff Cypher, John Graf, and all his past bowling teammates and bowling friends. Arrangements are with the Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria.
