Wilma Raap

April 18, 1930 — January 17, 2011

Wilma (Willie) L. Raap went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on January 17, 2011. Willie was born in Brooten, Minnesota to Hans & Gena Lea on April 18, 1930. Willie graduated from Glenwood High School and received her Teachers Degree from St. Cloud State University. Teaching was her passion. Her career started in a one room school house and spanned over four decades. For thirty-four years she touched the lives of many children at Zion Lutheran School. Wilma met her life long love at the age of 15 and the couple married on August 31, 1953. Jerry and Willie shared the joy of rollerskating, motorcycling, spending time on the lake, remodeling and building many homes together and coffee times with friends. Willie and Jerry had three girls: Jan, Sandy, and Cammie. As a family they cherished one another and the time they had together ? the memories are countless. They also had twelve grandchildren and two great grandchildren. The grandchildren will forever treasure their ?grandma days.? Willie is survived by her three daughters: Jan & Mark Pederson, Sandy & John Jackson, Cammille & Andrew Rassat; eleven grandchildren: Katie & Matt Morrow, Michael Pederson, Kristen Pederson, Zach, Luke, Victoria, Brianna, Johnny, Mikey Jackson, Dalton Rassat, Gabbie Rassat; great grandchildren: Braeden Morrow, Sofie Morrow; Sisters: Betty Fish, Vinnie Cohen; brother, Harley Lea and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry; granddaughter, Marrissa Rassat; parents: Hans & Gena Lea; sister, Helen Lea. Funeral services were held on Friday, January 21, 2011, 11:00 a.m. at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Alexandria with Rev. David Domanski officiating. Burial was at Geneva Cemetery.
