Yvonne Mary Ida was born on August 20, 1932, in Philadelphia, Mississippi, the daughter of Robert and Evie (Rogers) Edwards. She attended House High School in Neshoba County graduating in 1950. She then went to Cosmetology School in Mobile, Alabama. Then returned to school later in life, graduating from Des Moines Area Community College as an LPN in 1969.
Yvonne met Duane Myrin while he was in Navy flight training in Pensacola, Florida. The couple was united in marriage on April 3, 1954, in Pascagoula, Mississippi. To this union six children were born. After traveling with the Navy, they settled in the Midwest, returning to Minnesota for good in 1974. After staying at home and raising her family, she returned to work as an LPN, working at Northwest Hospital in Des Moines and then worked at Fergus Falls Treatment Center where she retired in 1995.
She enjoyed and spent endless hours sketching, doing oil painting, and was a wonderful seamstress. Yvonne was an avid gardener and her “Happy Place” was Gulf Shores. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren.
Yvonne died on Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at her home surrounded by her family. She is survived by her children: Harry Myrin, Christina Myrin, Janis Shea, Cynthia (Al) Norling, Robert (Cassie) Myrin, John (Becky) Myrin; 17 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild, brother, Jack Edwards; sisters: Merlene Barnes, Earlene Peebles.
She was preceded in death by her husband, two infant granddaughters, parents, three brothers.
